MODULE 4: COLLABORATIVE STORYTELLING


INTRODUCTION

Through cooperative learning they will be able to write short stories  in English. Learning the basic principles of storytelling as well as improving on the use of verb tenses and sequencing words.

OBJECTIVE

  1. Writing stories.

  2. Using sequencing words.

  3. Past simple and Past continuous tenses.

  4. Using digital and cooperative resources and tools.

  5. Respecting copyright rules.

  1. Short film ALMA.

  2. Google presentations

Using co-rubrics and google forms students will be able to think on their work by self assessment and give some feedback to their classmates. Then they will get feedback from their teacher and classmates

ACTIVITY

5 min Watch the short film ALMA.

10 min answering questions: Students will answer the following questions orally in groups of 5 or 6.

                                                       -Who is the main character?

                                                       -What kind of story is it? What makes it feel? Why/how?

     -What’s the main story? What happens first, after... ?

                                                       -When/ where does the story take place?

                -What was the weather like?

    -What was Alma wearing?

                                                      -What did she write on the wall?

                                                      -What did she see in the shop window?

    -What was strange about it?

    -What happened to Alma when she tried to catch the doll?


30 min In groups for 5 or 6 will finish the story on a google presentations document. 

-In order, each student will write one slide to finish the story. 

-Use free use images (images are protected, so they might change and focus on a different character, a new doll or change Alma’s image).
